when I was growing up in the countryside it was not unusual to come across hedgehogs snuffling through dry leaves. In times of trouble, the hedgehog curls up, protects itself, waits for the danger to pass and calmly carries on about its business.  These lovely little creatures teach us that no matter how small, powerless, and insignificant we may feel, we can be cool & collected in the face of adversity and overcome it. These nocturnal creatures with their cute noses and spines have been a favourite subject of mine since childhood and you will find many cards featuring them.
